What is Alloy 28?

Alloy 28 is a high alloy corrosion resistant material also known as Incoloy 28.Here are some definitions, compositions, properties and application information about Alloy 28:

Specific grade: Alloy 28, also known as Incoloy 28, Sanicro 28.
Specific Composition: The main components of Alloy 28 include:

- Nickel (Ni): 30-32 %
- Chromium (Cr): 26-28 %.
- Iron (Fe): 3-5 %
- Copper (Cu): 0.8-1.5 %
- Molybdenum (Mo): 0.8-1.5 %
- Silicon (Si): 0.8-1.5 %.
- Manganese (Mn): 2% Max

Specific Gravity: Alloy 28 has a density of approximately 8.4 g/cm³.
Manufacturing Standards: Alloy 28 is manufactured to ASTM B668 and EN 1.4563.

Forging: Alloy 28 can be moulded by hot or cold forging.

Heat Treatment: Alloy 28 is usually annealed in the temperature range of 1050-1150°C.

Cold working: Alloy 28 can be processed by cold working methods, such as cold rolling and cold drawing.

CORROSION RESISTANCE: Alloy 28 has excellent corrosion resistance, especially in acidic media and at high temperatures. It has good corrosion resistance to sulphuric acid, phosphoric acid, hydrochloric acid and chloride.

Mechanical properties: Alloy 28 has good mechanical properties, including high strength and good ductility. Specific mechanical property parameters can be determined according to specific production standards and requirements.

Properties: The main features of Alloy 28 include excellent corrosion resistance, high strength, excellent oxidation resistance, creep resistance, low temperature brittleness, good welding performance.

Welding material grades: Commonly used welding material grades include ERNiCrMo-3.

Application areas: Alloy 28 is widely used in chemical industry, petroleum, marine engineering, food processing and other fields, especially for corrosive media and high temperature environment equipment and pipelines, such as sulphuric acid recycling device, acidic wastewater treatment equipment, chloride content of high environment.
