Know more about Inconel 713C Material

Alloy 713C is a nickel-based high temperature alloy, also known as Inconel 713C alloy. Below are detailed information about alloy 713C:

Specific grade and composition:

- Grade: Inconel 713C (UNS N07713)

- Composition: The alloy consists primarily of nickel (Ni) and chromium (Cr), with iron (Fe), aluminium (Al), titanium (Ti), molybdenum (Mo), niobium (Nb), manganese (Mn), silicon (Si), and carbon (C) also included.

Specific Gravity: The specific gravity of alloy 713C is approximately 8.19 g/cm3.

Manufacturing Standards: Alloy 713C is typically manufactured to ASTM standards, specifically ASTM B637 (Standard Specification for Steel Bars and Steel Forgings) and AMS standards (Aerospace Material Specification).

Forging: Alloy 713C can be forged at elevated temperatures to create complex shaped parts and components.

Heat Treatments: Common heat treatments for alloy 713C include Solution Annealing and Aging. Solution treatments are typically performed at temperatures in the range of 980°C to 1020°C, followed by appropriate aging treatments to increase the strength and hardness of the alloy.

Cold working: Due to its high strength and hardness, alloy 713C has relatively low plasticity for cold working. Cold working needs to be carried out with care to avoid cracking and breakage of the material.

Corrosion Resistance: Alloy 713C has good corrosion resistance and is able to maintain stability at high temperatures and in corrosive environments.

MECHANICAL PROPERTIES: Alloy 713C has excellent high temperature strength and heat resistance, allowing it to operate at high temperatures and in stressful environments. It has good oxidation and creep resistance.

Welding Material Grades: Commonly used material grades that are compatible for welding with 713C alloy include ERNiCr-3 and ENiCrFe-3.

Areas of application: Alloy 713C is commonly used in the aerospace industry for the manufacture of high-temperature parts such as turbine blades, combustion chamber components, gas turbine shafts and nozzles for turbojet engines. It can also be applied in the petrochemical, energy and chemical industries for the manufacture of equipment for use in high temperature resistant and corrosive environments.
