Nimonic PE11 alloy has excellent corrosion resistance and maintains its performance stability in a wide range of corrosive media. The alloy can be used for long periods of time in strong corrosive media such as nitric, hydrochloric, sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids. In addition, Nimonic PE11 alloy has good oxidation resistance and maintains its stability at elevated temperatures.

Typical Applications:

Nimonic PE11 alloy is widely used in aerospace, petrochemical and nuclear applications. In aerospace, Nimonic PE11 alloy is commonly used in the manufacture of high-temperature components such as jet engine nozzles, turbine blades and high-temperature valves. In the petrochemical sector, the alloy is used to manufacture equipment such as chemical reactors, pipelines, tanks and furnaces. In the nuclear energy sector, Nimonic PE11 alloy is used to manufacture high-temperature components in nuclear reactors. In addition, the alloy is used in the manufacture of high-temperature heat exchangers, high-temperature furnaces and heat treatment equipment.

Processing and Heat Treatment:

Nimonic PE11 alloy can be subjected to hot working, cold working and heat treatment processes to meet different manufacturing requirements.

Hot working:

The hot working temperature range of Nimonic PE11 alloy is 1050-1150°C. It can be subjected to forging, rolling and extrusion processes. During hot working, appropriate preheating and insulation measures should be taken to ensure uniform heating of the material and to avoid thermal cracking.

Cold working:

Nimonic PE11 alloy can be cold worked, including cold drawing, cold rolling, cold forging and cold extrusion processes. During cold working, care should be taken to avoid overcooling, which may affect the high temperature properties of the material.

Heat Treatments:

Nimonic PE11 alloy can be subjected to a variety of heat treatment processes, including solid solution treatment, aging treatment and annealing treatment. Among them, the solid solution treatment temperature is 1140-1175°C, the aging treatment temperature is 760°C, and the annealing treatment temperature is 980°C. In the heat treatment process, attention should be paid to the control of parameters such as heating rate, holding time and cooling method to ensure the stability of material properties.

Machining:

Nimonic PE11 alloy requires special measures during machining so as not to affect its high temperature performance and surface quality. The use of carbide or ceramic tools is recommended to ensure machining accuracy and surface quality. During the cutting process, appropriate coolants and cutting speeds should be used to avoid excessive thermal damage and tool wear.

Welding:

Nimonic PE11 alloy can be subjected to a variety of welding processes, including argon arc welding, electron beam welding, laser welding and plasma welding. During the welding process, care should be taken to control the welding temperature and welding speed to avoid quality problems such as weld thermal cracking and porosity. In addition, it is recommended to use Nimonic PE11 alloy as filler material to ensure the high temperature performance and corrosion resistance of the welded joint.

Recommended Welding Materials:

Recommended welding consumables for Nimonic PE11 alloys include ERNiCrMo-10 and ERNiCrCoMo-1, among others. These welding consumables have a similar chemical composition and high temperature properties to Nimonic PE11 alloy, ensuring high temperature strength and corrosion resistance of welded joints.
